YouTube Vanced – powerful modified version of the official YouTube app, designed to provide users with premium features for free.
It enhances the viewing experience by blocking ads, enabling background playback, and supporting picture-in-picture mode, making video streaming smoother and more flexible. One of its standout features is the ability to play audio with the screen turned off, allowing users to listen to music and podcasts without keeping their device active.
In addition to its ad-free experience, YouTube Vanced offers an AMOLED dark mode, optimizing both visual comfort and battery efficiency on OLED screens. Unlike the standard YouTube app, it gives users complete control over video quality, allowing forced high-resolution playback and HDR support even on devices that do not natively support it. The app also includes deep customization options, letting users modify the interface, adjust playback settings, and unlock experimental YouTube features.
A particularly innovative addition is the integration of SponsorBlock, which automatically skips sponsored segments within videos, ensuring an uninterrupted viewing experience. Furthermore, intuitive gesture controls allow users to adjust brightness and volume effortlessly, improving overall usability.
Despite facing legal challenges that led to its discontinuation, YouTube Vanced remains highly regarded among users who seek a better, ad-free YouTube experience. It continues to be widely used and appreciated, setting a benchmark for customization and user control in video streaming.
